You work for a textile company located in Europe that wants to improve its water consumption and management in line with the Circular Economy principles. The World Bank estimates that up to 20% of industrial water pollution is caused by textile dyeing and treatment. The new EColoRo wastewater treatment technology (combining the electrocoagulation, membrane filtration and reverse osmosis) shall enable recycling of treated wastewater from textile industry and of the waste streams resulting from the wastewater treatment process. The goal of this technology is to achieve the total reuse of wastewater and to close the water cycle in textile industry.

Your start-up is about to launch a technology to use reclaimed water for agricultural irrigation in line with the Circular Economy principles. With the acceleration of urbanization and global warming, this resource is becoming scarce. It is estimated that by 2030 water stress and scarcity will probably affect half of Europe’s River basins, so there is a need to manage our water resources more efficiently. Reclaimed water use for agricultural irrigation helps reduce agriculture demand and local water stress. However, farmers have some concern about the impact on human health and environment.
